Code of Ethics
The code of ethics for practices and guidelines for Council members are as follows.
Avoid deceptive acts;
Conduct yourself honorably, responsibly, ethically, and lawfully;
Work towards the improvement of HKSRA;
Acknowledge the need to protect the reputation and integrity of HKSRA Council against disrepute;
Not engage in harassment or discrimination;
Not attempt to injure others;
Not speak in the name of the HKSRA without the consent of the HKSRA Executive Board;
Disclose all known or potential conflicts of interest that could influence or appear to influence your judgment or the quality of the conduct of duties;
Avoid unlawful conduct in professional activities, and to reject bribery in all its forms;
Treat all persons politely and fairly regardless of belief, race, gender, age, disability, or other factors;
Adhere to the spirit and the letter of any rules or regulations made by the Council, its committees, or President of the Council for the regulation of the practice and procedure of the Council, its committees, or members’ behavior in their conduct of the duties of the Council;
Not disclose, without consent, confidential information in your professional work, where such confidentiality is consistent with the public interest and consistent with the law.
