Prof. Kemin Zhou

Professor Kemin Zhou was born in Wuhu, Anhui in 1962. He obtained his bachelor's degree in automatic control from Beihang University in 1982 and his doctorate from the University of Minnesota in 1988. Subsequently, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology from 1988 to 1990. From 1990 to 2017, he was engaged in teaching at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Louisiana State University. From 2018 to 2022, he taught at the School of Electrical and Automation Engineering of Shandong University of Science and Technology. Currently, he serves as the director of the Center for Advanced Control and Smart Operations at Nanjing University Suzhou Campus. His main research areas involve robust control, multi-objective optimization, robust control of hysteresis nonlinear systems, fault diagnosis, and fault-tolerant control, among others. He has received numerous honors, including the Overseas Outstanding Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2004, Changjiang Lecture Professor in 2004, National Distinguished Expert in 2009, IEEE Fellow in 2003, AAAS Fellow in 2012, IFAC Fellow in 2013, and the Fellow of the Chinese Automation Association in 2017.
